Difficult discussions in the classroom are a continual challenge for faculty. Given the current socio-political climate, many of us are now facing tentative situations with our students that must be handled with great diplomacy and finesse. Despite being experts in our respective fields, most faculty have little training in effectively dealing with controversy. This workshop will offer specific guidelines that can help instructors facilitate classroom discussions around controversial issues.
