Food & Philosophy: The Death of Humanity and the Case for Life
April 11, 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Robert and Pearle Ragsdale Center, Jones AuditoriumStudents are invited to a lunchtime discussion with Richard Weikart, Ph.D., Professor of Modern European History at California State University. Professor Weikart argues that, since the Enlightenment in the 18th Century, many secular philosophies have promoted the idea that humans are nothing more than machines with no intrinsic value. He contends that these philosophies have led to easy acceptance of abortion, infanticide, assisted suicide, euthanasia and, in some cases, mass murder. RSVP to Dr. Steve Dilley at email@example.com. Lunch provided to the first 150 attendees.
